Times are rapidly changing in the current environment. The media, newspapers, local councils and government are continually reminding us of how we must help save the planet by recycling, minimising waste and pollution, reducing carbon emissions and so on.
This goes for your supplies of cleaning products too. If you are already buying your disposable paper products and toilet rolls from us, you may or may not be aware that for the past two years we have been scouring the country for convertors that produce 100% recycled tissue, or ‘virgin pulp’ (which means “sustainable forest resource” I.e.: More trees are planted than are harvested). We have now successfully converted 97% of the disposable paper we provide you to recycled or ‘virgin pulp’
Adding on to the recycled paper, will be seven premium ‘Earth Friendlier’ cleaning chemicals manufactured for Direct Hygiene & Workwear to specifically provide you! We are excited to announce we will be launching this NEW and exclusive range in The New Year! They have all been thoroughly tested and have come through with flying colours.
This new ‘Earth Friendlier’ range are made purely from natural ingredients and fragrances. They do not contain ANY harmful chemicals, widely used in everyday household cleaners such as hypochlorites, phosphoric, hydrochloric and sulphamic acids.
The general base of these remarkable natural cleaners are made up of citric acid which is sourced from a variety of fruits and vegetables, most notably citrus from lemons and limes which have particularly high concentrations of the acid.
Citric Acid is the active ingredient in bathroom and kitchen cleaning solutions and also works as an antioxidant. A solution with 6% concentration of citric acid will remove hard water stains from glass without scrubbing. In industry, it is used to dissolve rust from steel!
Another natural ingredient used in the hard surface cleaners is Orange Terpene. It is derived from orange peel, a solvent acid that is naturally forming. Lastly, the fragrances added are all from natural plant and fruit extracts.
So as you can see, we are serious about changing as many of our products to ‘Earth Friendlier’ as we can and would like to think that you will join us.
